We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our team as a Buy Here Pay Here Collections Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the collections process for our in-house financing program, ensuring timely payments and maintaining positive relationships with our valued customers. Your primary goal will be to minimize delinquency rates while maximizing customer retention and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the collections department, including managing a team of collections agents.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce delinquency rates and improve overall collection performance.
• Monitor customer accounts to identify and address payment issues promptly.
• Communicate with customers to negotiate payment arrangements and resolve outstanding balances in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Review and analyze collection reports to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and finance, to streamline processes and enhance the customer experience.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in finance, business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Bachelor’s degree a plus).
• Five years or more experience in collections management, preferably in the automotive industry or a similar field.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience working with repossessions.
• Knowledge of FDCPA/GLB and FTC Safeguards as well as state laws governing collections practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in using collection software and Microsoft Office suite.
